I think another good example of a PLN is Tumblr.  This like any other social network can be looked at as a waste of time and not helpful.  I follow old friends fro high school who are in the same musical field that I am.  They help me learn new things everyday that pertain to teaching methods and music in general.  I also try to find as many people that have the same views as I do when it comes to music and talk to them about getting better at what I am doing and how I can improve and in the future become a great teacher.
